Citizen photographer Rob O'Neal is back home in Key West after one month and six surgeries in a Miami hospital following a Nov. 15 scooter accident.

Schooner Wharf Bar, 202 William Street – on the Historic Harbor Walk, will host a Welcome Home Benefit for him from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Friends and fans of the popular shutterbug will pack the waterfront watering hole to welcome and support the wheelchair-bound O'Neal during his long recovery.

The event will include live music, raffle prizes, a 50/50 drawing and an extensive silent auction.

The music will start at noon with Michael McCloud and Friends. Michael has an incredible ability of commanding the audience with his unique humor and original music and showmanship. The Doerfels, a talented group of young musicians, will take the stage at 6:00 p.m. with their blend of gospel, country, bluegrass and rock and roll, they put on an engaging show for all ages.

All proceeds will go directly to the Support Rob O'Neal Trust Fund at First State Bank, as he requires at least two additional surgeries to repair his shattered left leg before he can walk and work.

O'Neal is eager to see and thank his countless supporters, and will be available to autograph his 2012 Key West photo calendars, his Key West Photo Safari coffee table book and commemorative T-shirts that will be available at the event.

It’s a “snap” to be a good time and a good cause for a good friend– Come join the fun!
