SCHOONER WHARF’S MEL FISHER DAYS KICK-OFF PARTY
The 14th Annual Kick-off Party for Mel Fisher Days, a tribute to Mel and Deo’s continual quest to fulfill their dream, was held at Schooner Wharf last Thursday. The night’s festivities celebrated the day 27 years ago when Mel’s crews found $400 million in shipwrecked gold, silver and emeralds that had been sitting on the ocean floor for more than 300 years. Events included the Miss Atocha Bikini Contest, 50/50 raffle, and a chance to win an Atocha coin buried in a cupcake. Amber Bennett took home the Miss Atocha title and a $2,000 Madagascar Emerald by raising the most money in the bikini contest.	Friend and Kim Fisher
All together, $5,700 was tallied, and 100% of net proceeds will be donated to Wesley House Family Services.
