27th ANNUAL SCHOONER WHARF MINIMAL REGATTA RESULTS
Calling All Boat Boat Builders and Would-Be Ship Wrights

The 27th Annual Schooner Wharf Bar Minimal Regatta captivated thousands of spectators along the Key West Harbor Walk as twenty-three energetic and determined teams competed in the hijinks last Sunday.

The event is a reflection of the colorful, creative and unique spirit of Key West and its people � fun-filled, creative and just a bit different from the rest!

Congratulations to Katie Leigh paddling Red Hot! in the Open Design and Capt. Holly of The Hermit Crabs in the Kayak/Canoe Design for their 1st Place finishes. Earning the Most Creative Design was the Key West Sailing Center's entry, Miss Scampi. First time participants the S.S. Stray Cattywampus was voted Best Paint Job. The team effort of the S.S. Wallaby triumphed in the Best Costume category and the dubious honor of the Best Sinker went to the Tobin family's entry, Freedom Fighter.


Captain Petra Sobek on the Miss Scampi, winner Most Creative Design	Captain Holly Michaud on Da'Mingo and Captain Skateboard Kenny on Key West Sailing Center entry Whale Hung both had creativity and great paintjobs.

Captain Sarah Hamlyn and Bret Godfrey on the S.S. Wallaby winner of the Costume Design Award	Captain Charlie Straycat on USS. Stray Cattywampus and Captain Sean Blaise on U-2513 both contenders for the Sinker Award!
