2006 WRECKER'S CUP RACE SERIES RESULTS!!!
It was a great day on the
water for the crew tested and dolphin approved first race of the island�s
locally acclaimed and premier yachting event the Schooner Wharf Bar
Wreckers Cup Race Series.
South east winds prevailed, blowing 12-18 knots for the seven mile race to
Sand Key. The harbour was filled with the sails of 35 vessels at the horn
blown start of the race. The finish line was determined by a strong and
swiftly moving west current which dramatically changed the color of the
sea and course of the race. With the loss of navigational aid red buoy
marker #2, racers prudently crossed the stern of the committee boat for
safety reasons, putting into practice the theory there is one line across
the world.
The best view of those full sails was claimed by Captain Jeffrey Drake of
BOATPIX.com piloting a helicopter with a photographer, a great addition to
the fun of the event, thank you Tom McDermott. The mariners will reap the
rewards with booty from West Marine, Pussers Rum and Schooner Wharf Bar.

February Results
FUN � SUN & SAILS! The second race of the Schooner Wharf Bar Wreckers Cup Race took place on Sunday, March 4. The one way drag race to Sand Key was fast paced with an east wind in 3 to 4 foot seas. The third race of the series takes place Sunday March 26th at 1:00 p.m. All Captains Meeting is held on the upper deck at Schooner Wharf on Saturday, March 25th at 7:00 p.m, interested captains call (305) 292-9520 for further information .

March Results
The third race of the 2006 Schooner Wharf Bar Wreckers Cup Race Series took place Sunday, March 26th under a small craft advisory. The fleet consisted of 30 vessels and a seasoned crew. Boating condition consisted of following seas with an ebb tide and rolling 1-2 footers. A north wind blew 15-20 knots with sunny skies and turquoise waters. All interested sailors may call 292-9520 for the April 30th race.

April Results
It was a crew tested and dolphin approved finale to the 2006 Schooner Wharf Bar Wreckers Cup Race Series on Sunday, April 30th. The current and wind moved together to create an especially fast start for the participating mariners. NNE winds were blowing a steady 15 knots, with a moderate sea, making for an excellent sailing adventure!
