Today's the Day ----To Celebrate Mel!!!

Mel Fisher had a dream that he shared with the whole island. When that dream of gold treasure came true, the whole town celebrated.

This July marks the 20th anniversary of the discovery of the mother lode of treasure from the Spanish galleon the Nuestra Senora de Atocha.

On Saturday, August 21st at 6:00 p.m. Schooner Wharf is joining the celebration of Mel Fisher Days in events that combine stories of the treasure hunt, memories of the man, and a few of his favorite activities.

There will be a Lingerie Show for Lovers, courtesy of Fairvilla Megastore, we know how Mel loved beautiful women. The grand finale of the show will be a special FIREWORKS display!!!

There will be another famous celebrity recipient of The Mel Fisher Life Time Achievement Award, last year Academy Award winner Cliff Robertson accepted the first, and in the tradition of Graumann's Chinese Theater, placed his hand prints in cement next to Mel's. Mr. Robertson also gave a moving presentation and tribute to Fisher.

Schooner Wharf has a small hidden hoard of bronze limited edition Mel Fisher Commemorative Medallions available for sale, with certification that the Copper Ingots supplied to The Franklin Mint were recovered from the shipwrecked Spanish Galleon, Nuestra Senora de Atocha.
