11th ANNUAL SCHOONER WHARF BATTLE OF THE BARS
Shake, stir, slurp and sort - all in the name of charity!

Most Outrageous Team Costume - Red Headed Sluts

The 11th Annual "Battle of the Bars" showdown comes at high noon Sunday, August 8, at Schooner Wharf Bar. This year the popular competition is part of the Key West Bar and Restaurant Association Wine & Food Festival.

That is when the Key West bars and restaurants will get their teams of seven ready to determine the champion.

The popular fund-raiser, which has raised $75,739.00 for Big Brothers/Big Sisters through the years, combines two of the island's favorite pastimes - drinking and donating.

A relay course will be laid out where Key West's hospitality staff will battle it out, performing tasks used every day in the bar & restaurant business. The team with the best time, without mistakes wins the coveted Title and takes home a Trophy.

The laughter never stops and the money comes rolling in as teams try to bribe their way into the final rounds. Those bribes all go to the local charity.

The competition is getting stiff, 40 teams have entered so far, but it's not to late to throw your hat in the ring, teams can enter as late as the day of the event.

The Bomb Squad from Rick’s took third place, while the coveted “Most Outrageous Costume” prize was awarded to Pocahontas’ Revenge from Atlantic Shores.
